Once again at the Nürburgring circuit Qualifying Practice influenced the race forcing the team drivers perform a recovery race.
Qualifying Practice on this Sunday morning definitely influenced the entire day for the team from Bergamo. The hot sun shining on the German racetrack did not bring good luck to both crews who placed their cars rather behind the starting grid: Spengler placed twenty-fourth while Pavlovic twenty-seventh.
Due to this, the drivers were again forced to perform a recovery race, as yesterday did. Both the crews had an excellent start and a pressing first lap. Spengler fought amazingly in the very first moments of the race using all possible centimetres (grass included!). The first cross on the finish line was encouraging: Spengler crossed nineteenth gaining five positions while Pavlovic, twenty-first, recovered six places. However, the Safety Car was obliged to enter the racetrack to remove a car from the sand of the first curve and at the restart Bonaldi Lamborghini cars were bottled up in the big group of cars. Under these conditions it was difficult to find the way to overtake and easy to make a mistake as Pavlovic did on the eighth lap when he underwent an about-turn at the last chicane. The Serbian driver lost seven positions and had to start the recovery again. At the Pit Window opening for the compulsory stop, Spengler was nineteenth while Pavlovic could gain the twenty-fifth position. The Serbian driver was the first to join the pit-stop and Spengler did the same after a couple of laps. Pit stops were not lucky: Zonzini lost three positions while Kujala one. But both the crews did not quail and set up a regular and pressing rhythm. At the lap no. 31, before the Safety Car joined the race again, Zonzini crossed the finish line on the twentieth position and Kujala twenty-third. The Race Control car left the racetrack a little bit more than five minutes before the chequered flag and Zonzini raced hard till he had a small accident with Stolz and Tutumlu. The driver from San Marino had an advantage gaining the sixteenth position while the other two cars were late. Kujala as well could profit and gained three places. So, at the end of the race, the Lamborghini Huracán cars from Bonaldi Motorsport team placed sixteenth and nineteenth.
