Race 2 of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in Nurburgring launched Bonaldi Motorsport to the leading positions of the championships thanks to Kodric’s absolute victory and Amstutz-Kujala’s victory in PRO-AM category.
Today’s second race of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was welcomed by good news, prediction of what happened then during the race. In fact, following several penalties, race officials had modified Race 1 standings allowing Ineichen and Kodric to shift over a position in the PRO category.Due to strong foggy weather, Race 2 was postponed of a bit more than half an hour and started behind the safety car. After two laps, the safety car left the racetrack and Kodric kept his second place trying to reach the leader, Schlegelmilch. Thanks to their good rhythm, the two drivers built an important gap between them and the rest of the group. The strategy and the performance, done by Bonaldi Motorsport’s team during the regulatory pit stop at the half race, were perfect and allowed Kodric to rejoin the track before Schlegelmilch. The rest was done by Martin who raced excellently till the chequered flag and obtained his first season deserved success.
Both Valente, who left from the seventh line, and Amstutz, who left form the eighth, had a good start. But the two crews had then different performances: Kujala, after receiving his car from Amstutz, performed his nth show which allowed him to pass Breukers and won in PRO-AM category with his car no. 34. Valente and Barbosa had instead to drop out due to an accident with another driver. Ineichen did not join Race 2 as he is involved in Blancpain GT Series endurance race.
It was a very difficult race. I had to race heavy from the start to the end but my victory rewarded me: it was great!
I am very happy for the team who did a great job yesterday to repair the car. Today’s victory is really meaningful in this sense apart from recovering points in our standings!
