The third round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo closes with a less positive than expected balance for Bonaldi Motorsport with the fourth and fifth place of the night race as best placements of the weekend…
Misano Adriatico (ITA). Third round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo: we return to Italy, at Misano Adriatico, after the opening round in Monza. Two organizational novelties: the division between the PRO and PRO-AM cars and the AM and LC cars with different races and the Saturday night race. A big certainty: Bonaldi Motorsport is there fighting for the title with both their crews! After a Friday dedicated to free practice characterized by an atypical weather with a water downpour on the circuit named to Marco Simoncelli, the qualify sessions and the two races are held under the most usual sun of the Romagna Riviera. For the first time in the season, James Pull and Fredrik Blomstedt enter in the first qualifying round: the English driver conquers the sixth position, while the Swedish driver is fifteenth. In the second qualifying session Patrick Kujala replies the sixth position of Pull, Kelvin Snoeks is twelfth. Race 1 starting at 10:30 pm is very scenic, but not particularly positive for Bonaldi Motorsport crews who find themselves battling in the middle of the group; after the pit stop the two Huracàn from Bergamo continue their comeback one behind the other and finish the race practically in parade with Snoeks fourth and Kujala fifth. Great starting in Race 2 for both Bonaldi Motorsport drivers who gain two positions: Kujala is fourth, Snoeks tenth. After a lap, for Lind’s retirement, the two drivers climb the classification further; the pace of the race is very high, the two leaders are able to lengthen with Kujala committed to defend the position. After the pit stop, Blomstedt maintains the third place, while Pull is seventh. But the final is not the one hoped with problems to the tires that forced the Swedish driver to retire and the English driver to another stop in the pit that makes it fall to the bottom of the group after he rose to fourth position.
The championship is very competitive, but the team is very good. Personally I have improved my performances since the beginning of the year, but I have to do even better and with more consistency.
For me it was the first time in Misano and the first time in the Super Trofeo at night: it did not go wrong, it gone worst in the Sunday race.
