Thanks to the second place behind the teammates Bartholomew-Middelton in the second race scheduled in Jerez de la Frontera, Afanasiev and Kroes are the new Lamborghini Super Trofeo champions…
Jerez de la Frontera (SPA). In the last round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo on the Spanish circuit of Jerez de la Frontera, the Russian Sergey Afanasiev and the Dutch Danny Kroes gave to Bonaldi Motorsport the continental trophy. The new champions arrived in Spain as leader in the standings and they interpreted the weekend in an excellent manner: after a frantic race 1 that saw them close in sixth position, they won the championship thanks to the second place of race 2 behind teammates Bartholomew-Middleton. Therefore, the
British couple closes the season in the best way, giving Bonaldi Motorsport a double; the team from Bergamo also wins the team’s standings. No luck, instead, in the World Final in which the best result is obtained by Afanasiev and Kroes with the third place in race 2.
It was a very long weekend: the five points ahead were not so many, but the pressure was enormous. We remained united and focused and in the end the conclusion was exceptional. Special thanks to the boys led by Marco Bielli who were able to give their best at the crucial moment of the season.
am very happy, we all did a great job: the car was perfect, the team worked intensely, we did our job on the track … and now we are champions
I’m happy with the result: it was what we had been aiming for a long time! Very
good to everyone and to the drivers in particular, who have always been focused and have won a championship
in an absolutely deserved manner.
