Loris Spinelli and Max Weering keep on going. After winning the two opener races at Imola, the Bonaldi Motorsport drivers repeated the same at Paul Ricard, dominating both scheduled races…
Paul Ricard (FRA). Loris Spinelli and Max Weering dropped the hammer! On the French circuit of Paul Ricard, the two Bonaldi Motorsport drivers repeated the sensational result of the opening round at Imola and win both races in the programme, which means the number of wins this season is four out of four. The French weekend began in the best possible way with Spinelli and Weering securing pole position in their respective sessions. In a very smooth start to race 1, Weering easily maintained first position and in his stint built up a good lead that Spinelli, once he had taken over the car, was able to maintain until the chequered flag. In race 2 it was Spinelli who started first and drove a perfect stint. The margin over the second place was comfortable and Weering managed it well, crossing the finish line in first position. In the ProAM class, the two crews formed by Paolo Biglieri/Pietro Perolini and Martin Kodric/Sandro Mur did not reach their expectations, but they showed particularly in race 2 that they have potential to race for the top positions. The comeback that both crews pulled off, made it clear that from the next race at Misano Adriatico they will also be fighting among the best in the highly competitive ProAM class.
Four wins in a row, I am obviously very happy! We are working well with the team and Max, finding the best car performance both in terms of race pace and one lap speed, as we have proved by setting the fastest laps. We already have a good lead in the championship, but we will focus race by race, without thinking too much about the classification.
Double again, what an incredible start to the season! Team and Loris were flawless, I couldn’t imagine a better weekend!
It was a weekend in which bad luck followed us right from the start, but it was in the final race that the best satisfaction came. We recovered from the last position up to the middle of the grid, with both Pietro and myself making some excellent overtaking moves and keeping a good race pace.
