Barcellona (SPA). A new trophy is added to Bonaldi Motorsport’s already rich trophy collection. Loris Spinelli and Max Weering have won both races in Barcelona and taken the championship title with still one round to go. Bonaldi Motorsport confirms the winning tradition in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, where the Italian team is, in fact, the most successful in the history of the championship. The mathematical certainty of the title had already been secured at the end of race 1. Spinelli took advantage of pole position and led the race right from the start. After a safety car intervention, the Italian driver started pushing again and handed the car over to Weering with a good gap. A second safety car deployment left the race go green only with three minutes to go, with Weering winning the race. In the race 2, the duo took their eighth win of the season. The race itself was once again characterised by numerous interventions of the safety car. In Sunday’s race, there was also glory for Martin Kodric and Sandro Mur, who achieved an excellent third place in the ProAM class. A consistent first stint from Mur and a phenomenal second stint from Kodric, was a key to climb right up to the third step of the podium. The other ProAM duo of Paolo Biglieri and Pietro Perolini also showed excellent potential during the weekend.
.All season long we have been able to have a very good pace and today we brought the championship home. Max did a great job, and I did my best. A big thanks goes to the team, which has always worked outstandingly. Let’s now stay focused for the finals in Portimão, to try to finish the season on a high note!
.I am really happy to have won the championship, especially after I came very close to it last year before having a puncture in the final round of the season. This success means a lot to me and to the team, as we have worked very hard all year long. The team has provided us with a perfect car throughout the whole year. Now we are going to turn the page and aim to win the finals in Portimão as well!
