In the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo opening round in Monza Bonaldi Motorsport obtained an amazing victory in the PRO-AM category with Kujala and Amstutz but had some regret too.
The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo started the 2016 season as well as it closed the 2015 one. This is to say that the Finnish driver Patrick Kujala celebrated his victory on the highest step of the podium. In Monza the Bonaldi Motorsport flagship driver achieved his undisputed success in the opening race of the PRO-AM category together with the Swiss driver Adrian Amstutz. Thanks to their gained fifteen score, they are placed on the third position in the championship standings. In the PRO-AM category also the South-American couple of drivers, the Puerto Rican Ricardo Vera and the Colombian William Barbosa, had their debut. After placing on the eleventh position in Race 1, the two drivers performed an excellent come back in Race 2 reaching the seventh place. They regret to be placed less than expected. In the championship they are expected to be in the top ten position. However, what is most regretful is the end of Race 2 by the Croatian Martin Kodric who, due to a rear-ending caused by a rival, could not reach the podium which would have allowed the Bonaldi Motorsport flagship driver to be on a higher position than an absolute seventh place in the championship. In the AM category, the Swiss driver Mark Ineichen, who performed well in both Race 1 and Race 2, placed sixth with nine score in the championship.
Next round for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is scheduled on the English circuit of Silverstone for the weekend of May, 15th.
