Bonaldi Motorsport celebrated the new AM world champion in Valencia: in fact, the Swiss driver, Adrian Amstutz, won both the races and gained the world champion title…
After the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo round with Adrian Amstutz and Patrick Kujala who won in the PRO-AM category and with Bonaldi Motorsport who won the team standings, Valencia hosted the World Final. In fact, starting from last Saturday, the drivers, who took part to the three world Super Trofeo, challenged to define the world champion for each category. The Croatian Martin Kodric in PRO and the Swiss drivers Adrian Amstutz and Mark Ineichen in AM represented Bonaldi Motorsport team.
Qualifying Practice was performed as expected: Kodric placed third in the first session and fifth in the second one. Amstutz started Race 1 from the fifth position while Race 2 from the second. Ineichen was seventh and tenth. When AM Race 1 started, Amstutz was clever to overtake a couple of drivers while at the second braking he passed inwards and gained the second position. After three laps, the unchained Swiss driver attacked the race leader and gained the first position. Adrian obtained and held that advantage which could allow him to end the race with a deserved and undoubted victory. Also his fellow countryman, Ineichen, had an excellent performance which pushed him to the fifth position, till a banal inconvenient which forced him to stop at the pit. Kodric was really unlucky: when PRO Race 1 started, he underwent an accident which forced him to park his Huracán on the track edge after very few metres…
The weak sunny weather of the previous days turned into a heavy rainy weather on Sunday. In AM Race 2 Amstutz doubled his victory and became world champion. The Swiss driver started his race prudently following the Safety Car. Then, he was good enough to avoid mistakes and gain the first final position. Ineichen placed ninth. Also the PRO Race 2 started after the Safety Car in complicated weather conditions. Kodric performed without mistakes and heavily fought against the other drivers. At the end the Croatian placed fifth.
