The result of the Qualifying Session influenced Race 2 performance on Sachsenring circuit: both Bonaldi Motorsport crews could reach the race end within the top twenty positions.
In a weak sunny day with a temperature of about ten degrees, Qualifying Practice took place to determine the Race 2 starting grid of the ADAC GT Masters second round. Emanuele Zonzini on his no. 32 Huracàn car was the first to join the racetrack. After few minutes Milos Pavlovic followed on his Lamborghini no. 3 car. Traffic on the racetrack was the constant condition of these short sessions. The two Bonaldi Motorsport flagship drivers could not successfully get out of this overcrowded track and at the mid fraction their positions were beyond the half of the line-up. After a double pit-stop, the drivers rejoined the track looking for better results that, unfortunately, didn’t obtain due also to a red flag just before few minutes to the race end. Therefore, the Qualifying Practice was certainly below their standard and Race 2 was logically useful to accumulate kilometres to better develop the cars.
Afternoon race started on a dry racetrack. The great number of racing cars started the race regularly while Pavlovic and Zonzini changed their positions and the driver from San Marino was also able to overtake other drivers. Just before the driver change, Milos overtook Emanuele and left his car to Kujala. After a couple of laps it was time for Zonzini to switch with Spengler. The two drivers managed to finish the race within the top twenty positions.
The negative result of the Qualifying Practice suggested us to use the race as an opportunity to stack up kilometres to develop our cars without any competitive intentions. We can be wrong no more now. Next race in Lausitzring must mark a positive turning point!
