The two second places with Pull-Snoeks and the fourth place in Race 1 with Blomstedt-Kujala represent a very satisfactory start for Bonaldi Motorsport in the first round of the season in Monza…
The definitely hot summer weather, which has characterized the Monza weekend, is nothing compared to what the two crews of Bonaldi Motorsport did to warm the hearts of their fans: supported by the meticulous work of the mechanics and a brilliant race strategy, Pull-Snoeks and Blomstedt-Kujala competed as protagonists in the two scheduled races. Pull and Snoeks collected better results with two second places that gave them important points for the championship.
Race 1 lived its initial phase on the all-Dutch duel between Snoeks and Breukers for the second place, while Kujala gained a couple of positions thanks to an excellent starting; as soon as the pit stop window closed, the safety car was in the race for several minutes. At the restart several turns of events gave a second bittersweet place to Pull, who was leader until a few meters from the finish line and then he was forced to slow down. A nice fourth place was gained by Blomstedt.
In the second race a good start both of Pull and Blomstedt and two masterful pit stops allow Snoeks and Kujala to compete in the very first positions: the two drivers engage in highly-acclaimed duels. At the end, the Dutchman replies the second position, while Kujala is penalized at the end of the race with any chance of podium faded away.
I came here with no testing in Europe and no testing with the team, so I was not expecting so much to debut, but I found myself perfectly at ease and the guys from Bonaldi Motorsport were fantastic with a high degree of professionalism. It was a real heartbreak the faded victory a few meters from the finish line, but the double second place here at Monza is an excellent result. Great credit to my partner Kelvin who done a great job.
After Friday, starting from qualifying the weekend has taken a decidedly positive trend: I took an excellent third place on the grid and the two races given us two second places. I struggled a lot on the track, I had fun and the good results arrived: no doubt about it, it was a great start of the season! A big thank you certainly goes to the team and to my partner James.
The weekend is surely positive and partly unexpected even after free practice on Friday; it’s a pity for the victory in Race 1, which vanished at the finish line, but the double podium with Pull-Snoeks and the progress shown by Blomstedt in addition to the usual high performance guaranteed by Kujala give us the awareness that we will live a championship as protagonists.
