Monza (ITA). After the seasonal start with Race 1, in which the team placed fifth and seventh in PRO-AM, Race 2 went on stage. Saturday race showed how Bonaldi Motorsport worked well. This enabled the drivers to have a good immediate feeling at the start with this new type of car. So, expectations for today’s race were high despite the results of the second Qualifying Session which let audience think differently. Milos Pavlovic, who shared his Huracan no. 3 car with Johnny Cecotto Jr, placed ninth on the start grid while Eugenio Amos, who raced together with Mirko Zanardini, reached the sixth PRO-AM position.
Big audience welcomed the protagonists of the second race of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in Monza. The race started behind the safety car due to a problem occurred in the line-up lap. But exciting performances were going to happen. Pavlovic could reach a position in the very first laps and followed the leading group of drivers. One minute before the opening of the pit lane for the driver change the safety car joined the track again. The leading drivers decided to go on with the race delaying their pit stop. When the race started again, Pavlovic was unrestrained and thanks to an tight overtaking he was good in gaining a new position on his rival. At the end of the driver changes Cecotto, who replaced Pavlovic, was fifth. The Venezuelan driver seemed to feel good in his Huracan and offered an exciting race end to his audience. He could reach the third position which vanished few minutes before the end of the race. For the new couple this was another fifth place. Also Amos and Zanardini performed well. Both had a constant race reaching the fifth PRO-AM position.
We did our best and we could gain the fifth place. We almost reached the podium which would have been the right award for our team work. As to me, I had an attack race to recover as many positions as possible.
I’m satisfied with my race. After a wise start, I could gain several positions, in particular with a double overtaking at Roggia braking.
