In the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo held on the fast English circuit, Bonaldi Motorsport gained two third places with Blomstedt-Kujala in Race 1 and Pull-Snoeks in Race 2…
Silverstone (GBR). As in Monza during the first seasonal round, even in England, the sun and the hot are the highlights in the weekend dedicated to the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Bonaldi Motorsport gains two podiums, but fortuity and bad luck have denied a result that could be much higher.
First qualifying session really palpitating: the Dutch Snoeks is among the first to enter on the track and, during the third lap, he made the best time which remains until the session is interrupted, halfway through the session, from the red flag; at the restart is the Finnish Kujala to score an amazing time that gives him the second position with Snoeks, who is fifth at the end. Second round of qualifying very fought with the two Bonaldi Motorsport cars both in the top ten: the English Pull takes the sixth time, the Swedish Blomstedt is tenth.
There are 45 cars at the start of Race 1: regular rolling start without any contact and the first part of the race without major emotions until the opening of the pit lane for driver changes, with Kujala holding the second position and Snoeks the fifth. After the driver changes the two cars of Bonaldi Motorsport find themselves chasing the leaders paired in fourth and fifth position: fate reserves, however, a totally different ending with Blomstedt able to overtake Perez and to gain the third position of the podium, while Pull is forced to retire due to the breaking of the axle.
The start of race 2 is really hard: Blomstedt is involved in a contact that forces him to restart from the bottom of the group; for his part, Pull must defend his position with very heavy duels. After the driver changes Snoeks is in sixth place, Kujala is twenty-second. The Dutch performs two decisive overtakings and crosses the finish line in third position, while Kujala is in the top twenty.
I made a good qualifying putting the car in the first row: it was important to have a good first race that brought Fredrik and me on the first podium of the season; shame about the initial contact of Race 2 that has compromised every possibility of doing well. In general we are competitive, the team is excellent and the car is performing: we need more luck.
